Lilly Riveron - Allegro Dance Theater Alumni

Ileana Christine Riveron is 15 and has attended the Harid Conservatory for the past year and a half. She was a member of Allegro Regional Dance Theater for 5 years, playing such roles as "Crab" in The Little Mermaid, "Peter" in Peter and the Wolf, "Arabian" and "Snow Queen" in Nutcracker , "Pinocchio" in Pinocchio and several other roles. She has participated in the Pittsburg Youth Ballet and the Milwaukee Ballet Summer Intensives and at the Harid Conservatory she has danced Mirlitons and Spanish in Nutcracker as well as several other parts in various ballets.

Wausau teen to dance at Royal Ballet School in London WAOW TV - Ballet class at the Allegro Dance Theater Group in Wausau is a test of grace, stamina, and expression. It's that continued test, and the quest for perfection that keeps Lilly Riveron, 16, striving to improve.
      She says, "You always need more turnout, higher jumps, higher legs, more turns. You can never do it well enough."
      Riveron began ballet at 4-years-old.
      She took a year long pause shortly after starting, but hasn't stopped since.
      Back after two years at a dance school in Florida, Riveron dances with the group that helped her get where she is today.
      Come September, she'll share the bar with dancers from around world--chosen to attend the prestigious Royal Ballet School in London. Riveron will spend three years there.
      The school is connected to the Royal Ballet a premier institution in the ballet world.
      Allegro Director Janne Dean says, "That's in the top four. What I like about it is she's going to be around those professional dancers on a daily basis, and she's studied all these people already she knows who they are. It's going to be wonderful."
      Riveron will dance more than 5 hours a day during her time there.
      A combined effort of dance and education, she'll finish high school, begin taking online college courses, and focus on the passion that she'd like to make a profession.
      She'd love to someday be a principle dancer in a ballet company.
      "I think it's in the ballet dancers nature to be a perfectionist and always go for the highest goal they can reach.. so yeah, someday i'd like be a principle dancer," Riveron says.
      Those who know Riveron aren't surprised she was selected for this spot.
      Dean says, "She's working harder than she's ever worked before."
      And while work ethic has a lot to do with it, there's no discounting the talent it takes to get here.
      "As soon as she put her pointe shoes on--she was like born to be on pointe."
      In her final year with the school, Riveron will tour with the Royal Ballet in hopes of getting picked up by a company.
